The fight buzz is building at Back to Basics. On Saturday, November 15, two of our standout athletes—Matt Martinez and Jacob Callender—will step into the cage representing Boston MMA, each ready to prove months of hard work. These guys have been training relentlessly, drilling technique, strength & conditioning, and strategy until late nights. We’ve got tickets available at the gym for this first event, and for the following weekend when Eric Huynh takes his turn, we’ll have tickets for that soon too.

Matt and Jacob’s training camp has been nothing short of dedicated. At our Boston MMA gym every session, they’ve dug deep: wrestling takedown entries, Muay Thai striking combos, jiu-jitsu transitions, sparring rounds, and extra cardio pushes. The sweat, the early mornings, the extra work everyone sees but the crowd may not—it's all for this. They’re not just training for themselves; they’re fighting for the team, for the gym, for the shared goal of winning.

Eric Huynh’s scheduled bout the weekend after adds even more momentum for the Back to Basics squad. Knowing that one teammate follows another fuels the culture of accountability within our Boston MMA family. When every teammate shows up to pad hold, for drilling, for watching film, or just being there for support—even if they’re not fighting—they’re contributing. It’s not just about one fighter; the whole gym is in this together.

If you’re part of the Back to Basics community—or you’re a supporter of Boston MMA—this is the moment to show up. Grab tickets at the gym for November 15, rally behind Matt and Jacob, and stay tuned for next-weekend details for Eric’s fight. Every person cheering, preparing meals, getting up early, showing up on time—it all matters. Together, we train, together we fight, and together we win.
