This Saturday, September 12th, two familiar faces from the Boston MMA community are trading the mats for the cage as Cage Titans 78 hits Plymouth Memorial Hall. Matt Martinez, whose ground game has been sharpened through years of Boston jiu jitsu training, is set to face Roman Parobek in what promises to be a technical, hard-fought battle. Fans who've watched Martinez grind out positions and hunt submissions in the gym know exactly what he's capable of bringing into a live fight, and Saturday is the chance to see that Boston jiu jitsu foundation tested under real pressure.

Sharing the card is Jacob St. Forte, another product of the same Boston MMA training culture, who steps in against Ryan Wackrow. St. Forte has built a reputation in the room for his composure and his ability to stay calm and technical even when a roll turns chaotic — exactly the kind of skill set that translates from the mats to the cage. Watching a Boston MMA-trained fighter like St. Forte compete at this level is a reminder of just how much value grappling fundamentals add once striking and full MMA rules come into play.

From the mats to the cage — Boston MMA's Jacob St. Forte competes this weekend at Cage Titans 78.

Both fighters represent something bigger than their individual records this weekend — they're proof of what consistent Boston MMA training can produce when athletes put in the years on the mats. Whether it's takedown defense, guard retention, or knowing exactly when to scramble for a better position, the instincts built through Boston jiu jitsu don't disappear once the cage door closes. If you've trained alongside either of these guys, or you're just a fan of watching grappling-heavy fighters compete, this card is one you don't want to miss.
